David's Persepolis Blog: Week One- Snippets

For the snippets, I would like to discuss the torture on page 51. I believe that Satrapi chose to make the torture the focus on the page as it is the largest section. Another snippet that I have is on page 70. In this part of the graphic novel, God is told by Marji to get out of her life. This part of the book really scared me and made me sad because so far in the novel, Marji and God have been very close. So, I feel that this decision by Marji was bad one that will result in her falling back to him. The final snippet that I have for this week is on page 71. This picture created my Satrapi is perfect for representing the words said by the narrator. The narrator says, " And so I was lost, without bearings...". These words relate to the picture because Marji is in the middle of space in the picture and she doesn't know what to do even though here home is being bombed she doesn't recognize it. The book brings up so many ideas and I want to learn about them.
